  • There should be a small aluminum plate on the dash, directly in front of the steering column, just behind where the hood meets the dash. Take that number and use the "Serial Numbers" section of this website to get your year of manufacture. If it is missing that piece, you can do a rough dating by the casting numbers on the right side of the rear axle housing, just in front of the round, six bolt cover. There will be 3 or four numbers there. The first is the day of the month, the next the month and the last is the last digit of the year. A set like 7,2,3 would translate to February 2nd, 1953. That is when this part was cast and GENERALLY cast parts were used within a few weeks to a month after casting so that would give you an approximate date as to when your tractor was assembled (providing the casting isn't a replacement, but that can be easy to spot as other casting dates on other major parts should all roughly agree within a month or two...)

  • OK, "7,2,3" would actually translate to February 7th, 1953 (or more accurately, The 7th. of February, 1953), following the European/military custom of putting the day ahead of the month.
